M 33 (Pinwheel galaxy) in Triangulum

  • Exposure time : 170 min Lum + 180 min RGB (each 60 min) (10 min individual images)
  • Date and Time : 26. December 2005 and 23. January 2006
  • Instrument : 40cm @ f/8
  • Focal length : 3260 mm
  • FWHM : about 3 arcsec
  • Filters : Astronomik luminance filter
  • Image processing : Imageplus (DDP) and Photoshop (Levels, Curves, Noise reduction)
  • Problems/comments : Imaged at my backyard, Mol, Belgium.
The following image is a full scale crop of the NGC604, the largest star birth region in M33. It can be compared to a Hubble image . Quite a lot of structure of the Hubble image is also visible in my image. Amazing.
