Comet C/2011 L3 (MCNAUGHT) was discovered on the 3rd June, 2011, by R. McNaught (Siding Spring Survey). The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 10th August, 2011, at a distance of 1.9 AU from the Sun.
