Namibia 2008
Gallery
In August 2008 I was for the fifth time in Namibia. As I am a member of the International Amateur Observatory
(IAS, see the banner on my intro page) I was staying at the farm Hakos,
about 130 km south west of Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Although my
fifth time under the southern sky at a very, very dark place, I am still very
much impressed about the splendid view of the Milky Way, its brightness and structure,
as well as the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds. In the following a collection of images
taken with two scopes, a 20 inch f/9.5 Hypergraph and a FSQ-ED f/5 Apochromatic refractor.
All the images are taken either with a STL11000XM CCD camera. Also some digital imaging was done using a Hutech modified Canon 20D.
