Variable Star observing

Variable star observing is nowadays my main astronomy interest. This involves a wide variety of objects and the observing campaigns run on a variety of telescopes.
Because I'm almost observing nightly it's impossible to list all observations here.

Eclipsing Binaries

Eclipsing Binaries catched my interest because I observe from the city center with a cheap small telescope and these objects are ideal for this. Just take a timeseries around the predicted TimeOfMinima and let it run though the night.

I found the interest of the professional world is waning a bit because of the longterm nature for scientific results of Eclipsers. A result is that left and right ephemerids exist but these are not centrally maintained.
One of the main websites for Eclipsing Binaries is B.R.N.O. They have a prediction generator and collect observations that they publish once every decade. It's nice to upload observations, but their ephermerids generator uses a bit outdated data.

Another good source of predictions is the Eclipsing-Binaries section from BAAVVS. These predictions are pretty accurate but involve mainly brighter targets.

AAVSO also publishes predictions for their Eclipsing Binaries program, but these are only targeted to American Observers.

Another source for ephemerids is Krakow OC diagrams atlas.

I compiled a catalog of the most recent elements for EB's, coming from Anton Paschke and in readable format. You can find this list in the Software section of this website.
RR Lyrae stars

RRLyr Stars are also nice objects to observe from the city with amateur insruments. The main group that collects these observations are GEOS.

There is no real ephemerids generator, but give them an email and they'll send a monthly list of ephemerids for your location.
Exoplanet transits

The Czech astronomical society has also a program called TRESCA to observe eclipsing binaries. They have a nice interface that calculates the transit of the exoplanet based on your observation.

Cataclysmic variables

Center for Backyard Astrophysics CBA distributes observing campaigns that professional astronomers use to model cataclysmic variable stars. They also gather the data.
