COMET C/2017 Y2 (PANSTARRS)

     R. Weryk and R. J. Wainscoat, report the discovery of comet on three w-band exposures taken with the 1.8-m Pan-STARRS1 telescope at Haleakala on Dec. 24 2017 ; the object showed a full-width-at-half-maximum of about 1".6 (larger than nearby stars with FWHM 1".1) in a stacked image; there does not appear to be a tail, but the object was quite faint.
