Discovery:   CBET 5672:  COMET C/2026 A2

 An apparently asteroidal object discovered on CCD images obtained on 2026 Jan. 15 with the Bok 2.25-m reflector at Kitt Peak (discovery observations tabulated below) has been found to show cometary appearance by observers elsewhere after posting on the Minor Planet Center's PCCP webpage due to its comet-like orbit.

There were 7 reports of cometary activity. The first report was by A. F. Tubbiolo.

There were 6 reports of a coma and there were 6 reports of a tail.  Details are provided in the table below.
