Comet P/2020 V4 (RANKIN) (astro.vanbuitenene.nl)

Discovery:

comet P/2020 V4 was discovered by David Rankin as a 19th magnitude object with a coma about 10" across on CCD images taken on 2020 Nov. 15 with the Mount Lemmon Survey 1.5-m reflector.  ( CBET 4889 )

MPEC 2020-W179 : COMET P/2020 V4 (Rankin)

     D. Rankin reports the discovery of a comet in survey images taken by the

Mount Lemmon Survey (G96) obtained on Nov. 15 UT.  He reports a condensed 10"

coma. Subsequently, prediscovery detections from Pan-STARRS and Mount Lemmon

were reported going back to Sept. 2020.  Additional reports of cometary

features are as follows:
