Discovery:

MPEC 2021-R257 : COMET P/2021 R5 (Rankin)

     D. Rankin reports the discovery of a comet in survey images taken on Sep. 9 UT by Mt. Lemmon Survey (G96), noting a condensed 8" coma. Prediscovery positions were reported back to June 2021. Additional reports of cometary  features are as follows:
