Discovery: [ IAUC 6124 ]

Robert Jedicke, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, reports his discovery of a comet on 1995 Jan. 8 with the 0.9-m Spacewatch telescope at Kitt Peak. J. V. Scotti adds that the middle image gives m2 = 20.9, shows a coma of diameter 17" and a tail extending faintly out to 2'.91 in p.a. 262 deg.

Recovery: [ IAUC 8764 ]

J. V. Scotti, University of Arizona, reports the recovery of comet P/1995 A1 with the Spacewatch II telescope at Kitt Peak. The object looks essentially stellar -- no obvious coma or tail -- though the image appears just a little 'softer' than stars of similar brightness in the field. Date of recovery: 2006 Oct. 22
