Discovery:

COMET P/2000 S1 (SKIFF) was discovered as a 14-the magnitude comet by Brian A. Skiff  on images taken with the 0.59-m  LONEOS Schmidt telescope in the course of the LONEOS program on 24 sept. 2000,  Measurer B. W. Koehn. And discribed the comet with fan-shaped tail 2' long in p.a. about 250 deg.    [ IAUC 7496 + IAUC 7497.] Confirming byM. Tichy, M. Kocer, and P. Jelinek (Klet).  0.57-m f/5.2 reflector.  And discribed the object as apparently diffuse with coma diameter about 14".

Recovery:

COMET 2017 L1 = P/2000 S1 (SKIFF)  -  H. Sato, Tokyo, Japan, reports his recovery of comet P/2000 S1 (cf. IAUCs 7496, 7497) on CCD images taken with an iTelescope 0.51-m f/6.8 astrograph at Siding Spring, NSW, Australia, noting the comet to be strongly condensed with a coma 15" in diameter and a tail 30" long toward p.a. 240 degrees in sets of eight stacked 60-s exposures on each night; date: 5 june 2017 .   CBET 4442 issued on 20171009 assigned comet COMET 2017 L1 = P/2000 S1 (SKIFF)  as periodic comet 352P/SKIFF
