Discovery: ( IAUC 9236 )

Terry H Bressi discovered a 19th magnitude comet in Spacewatch images taken with the 0.9-m f/3 reflector at Kitt Peak on October 24.21 2011. The comet will reach perihelion at 4.8 AU in May 2012 and has a period of around 13 years.

Recovery:

This comet was recovered in exposures taken June 17 UT at Pan-STARRS 1 (F51).  The comet was found in additional exposures taken in July from F51, as well as from Pleasant Groves Observatory (W16) and Pan-STARRS 2 (F52) in August.
