IAUC 9107: COMET C/2010 A4 (SIDING SPRING)


IAU circular No. 9107, issued on 2010, Jan. 14, announces the discovery by G. J. Garradd of an apparently asteroidal object, on CCD images taken with the 0.5-m Uppsala Schmidt telescope in the course of the Siding Spring Survey.  Brian Marsden noted on

MPEC 2010-J04 [2010 May 3] that The "original" and "future" barycentric values of 1/a are +0.003716 and +0.003785 (+/- 0.000022) AU^-1, respectively. The large "original" value suggests that this comet has made a previous visit to the inner solar system.
