comet C/2011 L4 was discovered by the 1.8-m Pan-STARRS 1 Ritchey-Chretien telescope (Haleakala, Hawaii, USA) on four CCD images acquired during 2011 June 6.39-6.43. The magnitude was given as 19.4-19.6.

I couldn't found this comet on earlier observations made by myself. But now the comet is much brighter and has a magnitude of 14.1 with a starlike coma of 15 arc.sec, there is very faint tail . The distance of the comet to earth is about 3.95 AU at the moment. According to the orbital elements issued by the Minor Planet Center , i found that the comet was about 3' away from these coordinates. astrometry and photometry data were obtained with Astrometrica and FOCAS-II software. Images 3x180 sec exposuretime and used telescope was a Planewave ODK 17" with focal reducer and FLI 6303 camera from remote observatory iTelescope.net New-Mexico.
