CBET 3127 issued on 28 may 2012 announced the discovery of comet C/2012 K5 by LINEAR Sky Survey. An apparently asteroidal object (CD05581) discovered by the LINEAR survey and posted on the Minor Planet Center's NEOCP webpage, has been found by other CCD astrometrists to show cometary appearance
