Image of this new comet taken by Franz-Josef (Josch) Hambsch by use of his 0.4-m f/6.8 remote telescope of ROAD (Remote Observatory Atacama Desert) San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, (G39 observatory) Object was still mentioned on the PCCP of the minor planet center and observed to improve the ephemerides of this unknow object.

Later on 24 aug. Was this object assigned as comet C/2014 Q3 (BORISOV) via CBET 3936: 20140824 : COMET C/2014 Q3 (BORISOV)

 G. Borisov (Observatory MARGO, Nauchnij) reports his discovery of a comet on CCD images obtained with a 0.3-m f/1.5 astrograph telescope (discovery observations tabulated below); he described the object as cometary with a 10" diameter coma.

After the object was posted on the Minor Planet Center's PCCP webpage, other CCD astrometrists have commented on the object's cometary appearance. …    exposure with a CCD shows a condensed coma 15" in diameter.  F.-J. Hambsch (Mol, Belgium) and E. Bryssinck (Kruibeke, Belgium), report that 13 average added 60-sec. clear-filtered exposures taken remotely with a 0.4-m f/6.8 reflector, at San Pedro de Atacama, Chile on Aug 23.4, show a diffuse object with central condensation and a 17" diameter coma.
