CBET 4836:  COMET C/2020 Q1

.This object was reported by G. Borisov on Aug. 18 UT as a possible comet appearing on exposures taken on Aug. 17 from MARGO (L51).  He noted a 25" coma, but no apparent tail.

After the comet was posted on the Minor Planet Center's PCCP webpage, numerous other CCD astrometrists have commented on the cometary appearance. ..... Forty stacked 90-s unfiltered exposures taken by E. Bryssinck, Kruibeke, Belgium, with a 0.4-m f/3.8 reflector show a diffuse central condensation with a circular, very faint coma of size about 48" and no tail visible on Aug. 19.07-19.12; the magnitude was 17.9 as measured in an aperture of radius 5".....
