Discovery:  [ CBET 5185:  COMET C/2022 S5]


R. Weryk reports cometary activity of an asteroidal NEOCP candidate (initially  reported by Pan-STARRS 2 on Sep. 24 UT) in three 60-second follow-up images taken on Sep. 28 UT by CFHT (568), noting a very condensed non measurable coma and a broad 1" tail at position angle 200-320 deg.  Follow-up images by R. Weryk on Oct. 29 from CFHT confirmed a very condensed   non measurable coma and a straight 7" tail at position angle 30 deg.

Prediscovary positions were reported back to Aug. 2022.
