Comet P/2018 L4 (PANSTARRS) -  20 june 2018

Comet P/2018 L4 was discovered  by R.Wainscoat he found on images taken on June 8.5 UT with the 1.8-m Pan-STARRS1 Ritchey-Chretien telescope at Haleakala  an object with cometary appearance.


Q. Ye reported that images on June 18.3 UTC showed a ~10" tail pointing to the SSW.  E. Bryssinck (Kruibeke, Belgium)  reported a diffuse appearance with a central condensation and an elongated coma 11"x18" in the N-S direction, in images taken around June 20.95 UT.  J. V. Scotti reported a 6" coma and a 0'.2 tail in P.A. 169.  


Later on 22 june 2018, this object was assigned as P/2018 L4 (PANSTARRS) with CBET 4527: 20180622 : COMET P/2018 L4 (PANSTARRS) issued on 22 june 2018 (see details below)
